Enter your date of birth and the house or flat number, including any block letter or floor if you want those variants tested. The tool shows the reduction step by step, handles addresses with letters and hyphens, and reports whether the resulting root is friendly, neutral, or traditionally read as unfriendly to your mulank and bhagyank.
A shubh makaan number is a nice thing to know and a poor thing to decide on. Location, price, water supply, ventilation, commute, and title documents matter enormously more than the digit on the door. This is belief-based guidance for reflection — not medical, legal, or financial advice, and never a guarantee about a property.
How a house number is reduced
The digits of the house or flat number are added and reduced to a single value from one to nine. Flat 402 reduces to six; house 27 reduces to nine; plot 1156 reduces to four. Where the address contains a letter, such as B-14, most practitioners convert the letter using the Chaldean or Pythagorean table and add it in.
Floor numbers, block numbers, and building names are treated as optional layers. Traditional practice reads the innermost identifier — the unit you actually live in — as the primary number, with the building or society name as a softer secondary influence. This tool shows the primary root and lets you test the variants.
A repeated digit, such as 444 or 888, is noted separately. Numerology reads repetition as intensification of that digit’s associated qualities rather than as a different root, which is why two addresses reducing to the same number can still be described differently.
What each root is traditionally said to suit
Indian numerology links each digit to a planet — one to the Sun, two to the Moon, three to Jupiter, four to Rahu, five to Mercury, six to Venus, seven to Ketu, eight to Saturn, nine to Mars — and reads the home’s character through that association. A six home is described as comfortable and social; a seven home as quiet and inward.
These descriptions are correspondences, not predictions. They tell you what a numerologist would expect a household to emphasise, and many people find the language a useful prompt for thinking about how they want to use a space, which is a legitimate reason to read them.
Compatibility with your own numbers is the second layer. A three home may suit a person with a three or nine mulank and feel less settled for someone whose numbers are four and eight. Practitioners usually treat this as a soft preference rather than a reason to reject a property.
Numerology is not vastu, and neither one is a survey
House number numerology and vastu shastra are separate traditions that people often confuse. Vastu concerns direction, entrance placement, room function, and layout; numerology concerns digits. Neither one uses a birth chart, and no ayanamsa or planetary calculation is involved in either.
Both are also entirely separate from a structural or legal assessment. A numerologically favourable house with an unclear title, seepage, or an unapproved construction is a bad purchase, and no amount of digit compatibility changes that. Get the documents and the building checked by professionals.
If you are interested in the spatial layer as well, Astro Hindi has separate vastu tools for home audit, entrance direction, and room placement. Keeping the two systems in separate tools is deliberate, because merging them into one score would hide which tradition said what.
Worked example: comparing two flats
Suppose you were born on 21 June 1985. Your mulank is two plus one, which is three, associated with Jupiter. Your bhagyank adds two, one, zero, six, one, nine, eight, five to thirty-two, which reduces to five, associated with Mercury.
Flat A is number 903, which reduces to twelve and then to three — an exact match with your mulank and a Jupiter home for a Jupiter person. Flat B is number 508, which reduces to thirteen and then to four, associated with Rahu, traditionally read as an uneasy fit with a three mulank.
On numerology alone, Flat A reads better. But if Flat B has better light, a shorter commute, and clean paperwork, Flat B is the better home. That is not a compromise of the tradition; careful numerologists have always said the same thing about practical factors.
Honest limits and next steps
There is no mechanism by which the number on a door affects the family inside it. Numerology is a system of traditional correspondences with cultural meaning, not a physical influence, and this page will not pretend otherwise to make the reading feel weightier.
Never let a numerological reading override a legal or financial decision. Property is the largest purchase most families make, and title verification, encumbrance checks, loan terms, and a structural inspection are what protect you. Nothing here is financial or legal advice.
For the spatial tradition, use the vastu tools. For a wider numerological picture, Lo Shu Grid maps your full date of birth onto the classical grid, and Personal Year Numerology tells you which year cycle you are currently in — often more useful than the address when planning a move.
